Tacha Speaks Up Against Bullying of Toyin Abraham: “Not Acceptable”

Written by on July 10, 2024

Anita Natacha Akide, professionally known as Symply Tacha, is a media personality, entrepreneur, and philanthropist who gained fame on Big Brother Naija (season 4).

Recently, amid the backlash against Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham for allegedly involving police in a troll’s arrest, Tacha defended her.

Taking to her X account on July 10, 2024, Tacha posted a video questioning criticism of Abraham’s support for APC’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Tacha emphasized Abraham’s right to choose her candidate, like everyone else.

“I don’t understand why someone is bullied for their political choice. Everyone has the right to pick theirs,” Tacha stated. She expressed frustration with unfair criticism of Abraham’s political preferences and clarified the incident involving a police petition.

“If you file a police petition and the person doesn’t respond, police will act,” Tacha explained. She criticized double standards in the treatment of police actions.

Tacha also pondered whether Abraham’s involvement in the election significantly influenced the outcome. “Considering the criticism of Toyin Abraham, I wonder how much her support affected the election,” she questioned. “Would our president still be in office without Toyin Abraham? Absolutely!”
