Nigerian Actress, Hauwa Maina Dies, Ali Nuhu Confirms

Nigerian actress, Hauwa Maina is dead as she passed on at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital on Wednesday night, May 2nd, 2018, according to reports.
Popular Kannywod actor, Ali Nuhu confirmed her death, stating that Hauwa dies at the hospital following a brief illness.
Ms Maina was one of the most popular faces in Kannywood. She was famous for her roles in epic Hausa movies as ‘Queen Amina’ and ‘Bayajida’.
Maina made her screen debut around 1998 in a film directed by Saminu Mohammed Mahmud.
She appeared in a number of other films such as Sarauniya Amina, Gwaska and Maina, produced by her company, Ma’inta Enterprises Limited.
The Biu, Borno State-born star had also delved into movie production and directing after spending close to 20 years in the entertainment industry.
Many Kannywood celebrities have condoled with the family of the deceased, posting her pictures on social media and praying for the repose of her soul.
Hauwa Maina will be buried in Kaduna today, Thursday, May 3rd 2018 according to Muslim rites.
She is survived by her daughter Maryam Bukar Hassan, a famous poet and an Information Technology graduate from Radford University, UK.
