Davido Warns New Artists Against Online Comments
Afrobeats superstar Davido has claimed he’s the most disrespected artist in Nigeria’s music scene – despite his global achievements.

Davido opened up about the constant backlash he faces, especially online.
“I think in the history of Nigeria, I am the most bashed and disrespected artiste,” he said. “In Nigeria, if you are the son of a successful man, you gonna get it.”
Born to billionaire businessman Adedeji Adeleke and a humble mother, Davido has always lived in two worlds. He attended one of Nigeria’s most expensive schools, but still kept close ties with the streets.
Many critics believe his rise was due to family wealth, not talent. That perception, he said, made it harder to earn respect in the industry.
Davido also spoke about the pressure that comes with fame. He urged new artists to avoid getting lost in online negativity.
“I tell new artists to stop reading comments,” he advised. “It messes with your head.”
Despite the harsh judgment, Davido credits his family for helping him stay grounded.
“I’m lucky for the type of people my family is. They’re cool people,” he added.
Davido continues to dominate charts and stages worldwide. Through it all, he remains focused on his journey – proving that success built on talent and hard work always speaks loudest.
