Mourinho rumored to replace Henrikh Mkhitaryan with Mesut Ozil
Jose Mourinho is reportedly ready to offload Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the summer as he looks to make room for Arsenal play maker Mesut Ozil according to Daily Mirror.
The Armenia international has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford and hasn’t featured for Jose Mourinho’s side since November.
Jose Mourinho is now ready to cash in on the former Dortmund star and replace him with Ozil, whose contract with the Gunners expire in 2018.
“Arsenal have already offered Ozil, in excellent form over the past few weeks, £275,000 a week to re-sign and have not given up on persuading him to stay but are struggling to reach an agreement,” Cross wrote. “Barcelona are also keen on Ozil, but there is a growing belief that United could be his destination.”
The piece noted United players are talking among themselves about the prospect of Ozil making the switch to Old Trafford. Here’s a look at how the story was reported in the newspaper, per Helena Lee of BBC News:
