I didn’t know it was a bunch of useless people – Executive Jet CEO apologizes for flying Naira Marley, Kim Oprah

The management of Executive Jets Services has officially released a statement regarding Naira Marley and Kim Oprah flight from Lagos to Abuja for a concert that held despite the ban on flights and public gatherings.
The CEO in a written apology to the minister of aviation noted that he had no idea that the aircraft was conveying a bunch of ‘useless people’

Iwuajuku in the apology letter dated Monday, June 15, said that the flight which conveyed the entertainers was originally scheduled to convey a judge to Abuja on Sunday, June 14.
He, however, noted that he realized that things took a different course after placing a call to the judge who informed him that he arrived in Abuja via another aircraft.
He further explained that, when he went through the flight manifest on Saturday, June 13, he saw the name Babatunde Fashola and assumed that the flight was to convey the minister of works. According to him, he had no idea that the aircraft was conveying the entertainers whom he described as a bunch of ‘useless people’.

“We hereby apologize for the above flight, with your permit rex: FMA/ATMD/0175/V/V/ 1268 dated 11th June. 2020. Please the flight was to carry a Judge to Abuja on Sunday 14th. 2020 as requested and the permit was granted based on the application, but unfortunately, when I called the Judge on Saturday morning to inform him that we have the permit, he then said that he has reached Abuja already with a different flight that someone gave him a lift to Abuja.
So on Saturday morning 13th June 2020 my staff called me that they have a charter flight to Abuja and that the passengers are already in the lounge as a rule passenger manifest is always sent to me before any departure when I went through the manifest and I saw FASHOLA BABATUNDE I thought it was the Honorable Minister of Works going to Abuja with his men, so we decided to do the flight since is a serving minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I didn’t know that it was a bunch of useless people.
We are very sorry for this mistake and we promise that this would not happen again. Kindly see attached Passenger Manifest for the flight. Thank you for your understanding.”
