Singer Jaywon arrested for violating curfew order in Lagos state

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Iledare Olajuwonlo-James better known as Jaywon have been arrested by the police for violating the curfew order issued over the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is gathered that the singer was arrested at around 11pm by the policemen attached to the Dolphin Estate Division of the Lagos State Police Command.
He is said to have been driving at the time of his arrest and was not also wearing a facemask.
He was reportedly then taken to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba, where he was charged before a mobile court after his statement had been taken.
He pled guilty during court proceedings on Tuesday and was ordered to pay a fine of N10,000 as well as carry out 30 minutes of community service.
Lagos State Public Relations Officer Bala Elkan confined the entertainer’s arrest saying Jaywon was among the 179 persons arrested for violating the curfew and refusing to use face masks in the state.
This is coming days after the federal government eased the lockdown in Lagos, Ogun, and Abuja to reduce the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown.
