FC Barcelona striker Asisat Oshoala has been voted African Women’s Player of the Year for the fourth time.
The Nigeria international beats competition from South Africa’s Thembi Kgatlana and Ajara Nchout of Cameroon.

African Women’s Player of the Year
Ajara Nchout (Cameroon & Valerenga)
Asisat Oshoala (Nigeria & Barcelona)
Thembi Kgatlana (South Africa & Beijing Phoenix FC)
Oshoala lifted her third Africa Women’s Championship title in Ghana two years ago after inspiring the Super Falcons to the continental glory.
Their triumph also saw them qualify for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup which was staged in France but failed to progress beyond the round of 16 stages.
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old has equaled Perpetua Nkwocha’s record after being crowned the best the fourth time in the women’s category this evening.
However, despite failing to shine at the global women’s football showpiece last year, the 25-year-old returned to her club in Spain – recording goals almost every matchday.
She has scored ten goals in 13 appearances for Barcelona women’s team in the ongoing league season in Spain.
