Blackface To Consider Settling With 2Face If Condition Are Met

Written by on January 11, 2019

Just when we thought the drama between Nigerian music act, Blackface Naija and his former crew mate, 2Face Idibia was over, Blackface spits more fire, declares war if his conditions are not met.

Blackface in an interview with media personalities, Honeypot and Foladele Falana on TVC’s entertainment Splash, suggested that 2Face indirectly threw shots at him after he left Plantashun Boiz because he (2Face) knows he got skills and sees him as a problem.

The rift between these two have been on for a long time – since 2004 as long as we can remember. The artistes have been at loggerhead following the break-up of the group in 2004, with Blackface claiming he wrote the song, ‘African Queen’, which was a hit single from 2face Idibia’s debut solo album, ‘Face2Face’.

This war has waged on for several years with threats of court cases and rumoured settlements.

The enmity however resurfaced in 2014, when another single, Let Somebody Love You from 2face’s Ascension album reportedly contained lyrics written by Blackface.

This led to Blackface raising a storm on various media platforms, claiming his former bandmate stole the song from him and included his manager [Efe Omorogbe] as a co-writer, without any credit given to him.

Recall that in 2017, Blackface was a guest on Pulse Loosetalk Podcast, where he restated these claims, which led to a response from 2face, who accused him of defaming his character, with Efe Omorogbe.

In a letter which was sent through 2Face’s lawyers, Seun Omotoba & Co, 2Baba demanded that BlackfaceNaija retract his comments.

Blackface Naija revealed this on Instagram saying, “2face Idibia and his manager Efe Omorogbe sued me for 50Million.They claiming I didn’t write Let Somebody Love You and African Queen and What Else.

“Just about time me and my legal team and I filed for my defense. I will release my album, Rising Sun (defendervol2).”

Can the Black Face and 2Face war ever end?

Blackface in his interview on Entertainment Splash reiterated that credit was not given to him on both songs, ‘African Queen and Let Somebody Love You’ and that’s more reason why he has always spoken against 2Face.

Somehow, Blackface is being perceived as bitter, because 2Face seems to be successful after the Plantashun Boiz break up. But for Blackface, it’s about the credit, acknowledgement and royalty.

However, he’s not relenting as he confirmed that the case is in court.

Blackface had on the 9th of January declared war on 2Face via his social media page,
