Nigerian music star Iyanya is calling for unity among Afrobeats giants Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy, saying he believes they will eventually come together to create a hit track.
The “Kukere” crooner made the statement after reposting a viral podcast clip where Davido blamed fan drama for the delay in working with Wizkid and Burna Boy. According to Davido, online trolls and competitive fanbases are a big reason why the collaboration hasn’t happened yet.
Reacting to the interview, Iyanya wrote on X (formerly Twitter):
“Trolls trying to make money off trolling real hardworking brothers. It’s not easy to look away sometimes, especially when they come for something so dear to your heart.”
He continued with a message of hope:
“I believe one day we will get that collaboration between Davido, Wiz and Burna. I’ve had the privilege to work with all three. Let’s make music and get money.”
Wizkid and Burna Boy have teamed up multiple times, dropping hits like “Ginger” and “B D’or.”
Burna Boy and Davido once collaborated on “Trumpet” before Burna’s international rise.
But Davido and Wizkid have never released a song together, despite years of hype from fans.
Could 2025 finally be the year we get a mega collab from Nigeria’s biggest stars? Fans—and Iyanya—are hopeful.
