Renowned Nigerian rapper Ruggedman has revealed the reasons behind his decision to remain unmarried and without children, shedding light on a personal vow he made during his youth. In an exclusive interview with TVC’s Your View, the 51-year-old artist shared his reflections on love, relationships, and the choices that led him to this point in his life.
Ruggedman explained that he made a vow in his younger years to never have a child out of wedlock, a commitment that he has stuck to despite the challenges of relationships and personal doubts. “When I was much younger, I vowed never to have a child out of wedlock,” Ruggedman shared. “Sometimes, I wonder whether I made the right or wrong decision. But still, it takes a lot from both parties. You have to do it with someone you really love.”
The rapper also touched on the complexities of finding the right partner, recounting past relationships that didn’t work out as he had hoped. One particularly painful memory involved a woman he believed he would marry, but their relationship was unexpectedly interrupted by a wealthy suitor, leading to her separation from him. “I have met some ladies I thought I would end up with, but it didn’t work out,” he revealed. “There was a particular lady I was supposed to marry, but a wealthy man came into the picture, and her mother separated us.”
Despite his current single status, Ruggedman emphasized the importance of love and compatibility when it comes to forming lasting relationships, adding that he values finding a true emotional connection over rushing into marriage or parenthood.
Ruggedman’s openness about his personal life has sparked conversations among fans and the public, with many appreciating his candid approach to navigating relationships and life choices. As he continues to focus on his music and career, it remains clear that his priorities remain on building meaningful connections that align with his values.
