Verydarkman (VDM) Reacts to Burna Boy and Speed Darlington Dispute

Social critic Vincent Martins Otse, widely known as Verydarkman (VDM), has expressed his displeasure with Burna Boy’s handling of the situation involving Speed Darlington. VDM criticized Burna Boy for keeping his colleague, Speed Darlington, in police custody for an extended period, although he made it clear that he did not absolve Speed Darlington of any blame.

Verydarkman, who has been following the case closely, explained that he wouldn’t have kept someone in a police cell for such a long time but acknowledged the need for accountability. The social critic also used the situation as an opportunity to warn people against defaming others, emphasizing that such behavior often leads to serious consequences.

Speed Darlington, whose real name is Darlington Okoye, has been in police custody for allegedly defaming Burna Boy. Reports indicate that Speed Darlington might spend the Christmas and New Year holidays behind bars. VDM revealed that he had made inquiries into the case and discussed the challenges of getting a timely hearing, particularly when there are no judges available to attend to cases quickly.

While VDM criticized Speed Darlington for his derogatory remarks against Burna Boy, he also acknowledged the struggles Burna Boy faced due to the continuous attacks on his character. He noted that the “Last Last” crooner lost some deals as a result of the ongoing dispute.

VDM emphasized that the situation should serve as a lesson to others, including himself, about the consequences of defamation. While he understands Burna Boy’s frustration, he believes the artist went too far by ensuring Speed Darlington remained in custody for such a long time, especially given his public stance against oppression.

However, Verydarkman revealed that he had spoken to some individuals, and it is likely that Speed Darlington will be granted bail soon, possibly on Thursday, December 18, 2024.
