Social media personality Bobrisky has revealed the reasons behind his recent departure from Nigeria, explaining that it was necessary for his mental health and well-being. In an Instagram post on November 4, 2024, Bobrisky confirmed that his exit from the country was temporary, stating that he needed to take a break to focus on his sanity.
“I’m here to confirm I’m out of Nigeria temporarily… I need to attend to my sanity and my health,” Bobrisky wrote.
He explained that he didn’t make the decision lightly. He had faced many challenges, including interference from Nigerian security agencies. ‘A few Nigerian security agencies tried everything to frustrate me, but naaa, I got God,’ he added, reflecting on his struggles to leave the country.
Bobrisky also shared details of his travel frustrations. He revealed that he had to buy three separate business-class tickets before finally leaving on November 3, 2024. ‘Each business class cost me 9.8 million naira. I only flew yesterday,’ he wrote. He jokingly addressed critics, saying, ‘Before you come to my page to type nonsense, check your account balance if you can afford 3 business-class seats, not to mention buying them three times.’
This announcement comes after a turbulent period for Bobrisky, who faced a series of legal and personal challenges. Just a few days prior, on November 1, 2024, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) took him into custody shortly before he was about to board a flight to London. The arrest followed an earlier incident in which authorities detained Bobrisky at the Seme border, capturing him in the back of a patrol vehicle.
Despite these challenges, Bobrisky made it clear that he was prioritizing his health and peace of mind and reassured followers that his departure was for personal reasons, not a permanent move.
