Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, better known as Odumodublvck, recently shared a memorable story in his new documentary.
He recounted a clever moment from early in his career when he used his mother as a cover to get back on stage at a major event in Abuja.
The rapper, nominated for “Best International Flow” at the recent BET Hip-Hop Awards, released an 18-minute documentary that Nigerian content creator Ugobaby produced.
In the film, he discussed a key incident when the organizers unexpectedly shortened his performance time, preventing him from playing his main song.
This event was crucial for him and his crew, so he needed to act fast.
Odumodublvck explained that he quickly ran to the event organizer and claimed that his mother was in the crowd and wanted to see him perform.
Fortunately, the organizer believed him and let him return to the stage. He emphasized that this moment reflected his dedication to his career right from the start.
Although Odumodublvck didn’t mention the organizer’s name in the documentary, it was later revealed to be Tobi Muhammed, also known as ‘Alhaji Popping’ of the Mainland Bloc Party. Tobi confirmed the story on social media and praised the rapper’s determination and resourcefulness.
