Burna Boy Tops Apple Music as Nigeria’s Most Streamed Artist

To celebrate Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day, Apple Music released a list of the biggest Nigerian artists, songs, and albums on the platform.

Grammy winner Burna Boy has been recognized as the most streamed Nigerian artist of all time on Apple Music.

The initiative called Oshe Naija (meaning “Thanks Nigeria” in Yoruba), is a month-long celebration honoring various regions that have shaped Nigerian music and helped it gain global recognition.

Burna Boy, who gained worldwide fame with his hit single “YE” in 2018, tops the list of the top 10 most streamed Nigerian artists.

Other notable artists include Wizkid in second place, Davido in third, Rema in fourth, and Asake rounding out the top five with his impressive string of hits. Tems is the only female artist featured, having captured global audiences with her captivating music.
