Written by on September 16, 2024

Nigerian artist Portable, aka Habeeb Okikiola, recently met Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate. The meeting happened at a private event and quickly caught public attention.

Portable, known for his lively personality and candid nature, expressed his admiration for Obi’s leadership and vision for Nigeria.

In several social media posts, Portable praised Obi for his dedication to the country. He shared his excitement about meeting the prominent politician and highlighted his positive qualities.

In one of his Instagram videos, Portable said, “Today, I met a great man who’s ready to take Nigeria to the next level. Peter Obi is truly a man of the people, and I’m glad to have connected with him.”

However, Portable also voiced his disappointment over not receiving any cash gifts from Obi. He compared the experience to meetings with other politicians, saying, “Let’s go, Obi didn’t give us anything. “If we had met Tinubu, he would have given us something.”

On September 16, 2024, Portable further explained his reaction on Instagram. He mentioned an earlier incident where someone pretending to be a pastor had attacked his sister, leading him to distrust the preacher he encountered. “He was not a man of God. The way he acted made me slap him,” Portable said, apologizing for his actions.

The incident, which was streamed live on Instagram on September 9, 2024, showed Portable confronting and slapping a preacher he accused of disturbing his business.

Portable later admitted that his actions were problematic and acknowledged his flaws, stating, “I’m human and I’m not perfect.”

Portable’s mixed feelings about his meeting with Peter Obi and the subsequent altercation with the preacher have sparked a lot of reactions on social media, raising questions about both incidents and their broader implications.
