Fans and Friends Rejoice as Fuji Star Obesere Recovers from Serious Surgery

Written by on September 2, 2024

Fuji music legend Obesere, whose real name is Abass Akande, has had a close brush with death but is now on the mend. The singer recently underwent a serious surgery that nearly claimed his life.

On Saturday, August 31, 2024, Obesere shared a photo on Instagram showing himself in a hospital bed with an oxygen mask.

In his post, he revealed how he narrowly escaped death and expressed deep gratitude to God for his survival. “The Almighty Allah has been merciful to me. I escaped a surgery that almost took my life, but Allah said NO!” he wrote in the caption.

While Obesere did not specify what illness led to the surgery, his near-death experience has stirred a wave of support from fans and fellow musicians. Many have flocked to the comments to wish him well.

Fuji artist KS1 Malaika, a colleague of Obesere, expressed his relief and wishes for a long, healthy life: “Wow, Alhamdulilah Alhamdulilah, keep living in good health my brother,” he commented.

Veteran comedian Gbenga Adeyinka also joined in the support, saying, “We bless God. Get well soon Oba IDAN.”

Other fans and well-wishers also shared their heartfelt messages: “Haliamudulilahi AMDAH WAH SHUKURAH, May Almighty ALLAH grant you speedy recovery without side effects seriously,” wrote @smar.tautos.

The outpouring of support highlights how much Obesere is cherished in the music community and beyond as he embarks on his recovery.
