Jamie Foxx promises to return to Atlanta to perform over a year after a mysterious health issue put him in the hospital.
In a recent Instagram video, Foxx announced his plans to visit metro Atlanta this October to share stories and jokes. “Atlanta saved my life because I was here when it happened,” Foxx said. “If I had been anywhere else…”
The actor’s health scare began in April 2023 when his daughter, Corinne Foxx, posted on Instagram about her father’s “medical complication.”
She assured fans that, thanks to prompt medical care, he was on the path to recovery. Foxx had been in Atlanta filming the Netflix movie BACK IN ACTION with Cameron Diaz at the time.
For weeks, there was uncertainty about Foxx’s condition, with rumors circulating that he was in a coma. By December, Foxx made his first public appearance since his hospitalization, accepting the Vanguard Award at the Celebration of Cinema & Television.
During his speech, he revealed that he had been immobilized and reflected on his challenging journey to recovery. “I couldn’t do that six months ago. couldn’t actually walk,” he admitted. “I cherish every single minute now. It’s different … I wouldn’t wish what I went through on my worst enemy.”
Foxx has expressed gratitude for the support he received in Atlanta and is eager to return. On Instagram, he wrote, “They got peaches down in Georgia, and they have angels too. “I’m going to talk about some of those angels,” Foxx said.
While he hasn’t announced specific details about his performances, Foxx aims to perform on October 3, 4, and 5. Fans in Atlanta can look forward to a special return from the beloved entertainer as he shares his story and celebrates his recovery.
