Nigerian music star D’Banj has shared details about his upcoming fifth studio album. Titled ‘Entertainer – The Sequel’, the album blends Afrobeats and Afropop and features eleven songs plus two bonus tracks. It’s scheduled for release on August 9, 2024.
For this album, D’banj has teamed up with global talents including Grammy winner Wyclef Jean, Congolese icon Awilo Logomba, Senegalese legend Youssou N’Dour, American superstar Akon, South African DJ Maphorisa, and NBC’s The Voice sensation Chechi Sarai.
He collaborated with Nigerian artists such as Phyno, Timaya, Kayswitch, Zlatan, Peruzzi, Bhadboi Oml, and Chuchu Lee
Ahead of the album, D’banj has released a single titled ‘Worthy’ featuring Youssou N’Dour and Chechi Sarai, offering fans a taste of what’s to come.
Excited about the album, D’Banj said, “Life has been a journey of self-discovery, and ‘Entertainer – The Sequel’ reflects my growth as an artist.
It’s about pushing the boundaries of African music. The past 20 years have been amazing, and I’m grateful for the support. I can’t wait to share this new chapter with my fans.”
After the album drops, D’banj plans a global tour in partnership with The Temple Company. The tracklist includes songs like ‘World Famous’, ‘Healer’ featuring Peruzzi, ‘Kala’ featuring Awilo Logomba, and ‘Worthy’ with Youssou N’Dour and Chechi Sarai.
