Dayo Adeneye, an energetic entertainment entrepreneur and co-founder of Kennis Music with Kenny Ogungbe, shared a challenging time in their long partnership.
Speaking on comedian Teju Babyface’s talk show, Adeneye vividly described the turbulent moments when he and Keke had a falling out.
He recounted seeking wise counsel from his father during this rift. His father’s advice was straightforward yet profound: nothing should come between them, and if their disagreement was over something as trivial as money or a woman, they should find a resolution.

Adeneye stressed that money was never a point of contention between him and Keke. Instead, their dispute revolved around a deeply personal and emotional matter: a woman they both had feelings for.
Since founding Kennis Music in 2000, Adeneye and Ogungbe’s partnership has weathered numerous challenges. Their label has propelled many Nigerian music stars to fame, including 2face, Eedris AbdulKareem, Tony Tetuila, Sound Sultan, Jaywon, and others.
Recently, Adeneye stirred controversy with his sharp critique of Nigerian women prioritising physical appearance over intelligence.
On a Podcast show, he passionately condemned the practice of women flaunting their “assets” online to attract male attention, asserting that relying solely on looks is detrimental to sustaining a meaningful relationship.
