Wizkid Celebrates 34th Birthday, Grabs Seven Nominations at Africa Arts Awards

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known professionally as Wizkid, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter who celebrated his 34th birthday on July 16th.

In a viral video, viewers saw him celebrating the milestone with his manager, Jada Pollock, American model Naomi Campbell, and his colleague, Tems.

They all sang “Happy Birthday” to him, and moments later, Wizkid burst into laughter upon seeing his birthday cake. The singer and his baby mama also enjoyed a pleasant meal to mark the occasion.

Wizkid, a sensation in Afro beats, has received nominations in seven categories for the Africa Arts Entertainment Awards (AAEA).

 

These awards aim to recognize and honour the achievements of musicians across Africa. Wizkid received nominations in several categories, including AAEA Best Continental Male Artiste and AAEA Continental Artist of the Year.

He’s also up for Continental Album/EP of the Year for his project ‘S2’ and accolades for his collaborations and singles. These include Best Continental International Feature for ‘Work Me Out’, Best Continental Afro RnB Hit for ‘Money & Love’, Best Continental Afro Rap Fusion Hit for ‘IDK’, and Best Continental Afro RnB Hit for ‘Ebelebe’. The awards ceremony is scheduled to be held in Kenya on August 17, 2024.
