UEFA Champions League quarter-finals Draw Result
The fate of the eight remaining teams in the UEFA Champions League has been decided as the draw was held today in Nyon, Switzerland.
Here are the results;
Barcelona v AS Roma
Sevilla v Bayern Munich
Juventus v Real Madrid
Liverpool v Manchester City
The two Premier League sides were the final two sides drawn in the quarter-finals draw.
The draw shapes as a less-than-ideal prospect for City, with the Reds inflicting Pep Guardiola’s only league defeat this season with a 4-3 win at Anfield in January.
That said, it’s a disappointing result for neutrals, with the Premier League rivals facing off relatively early in the competition, instead of taking on continental teams.
Barcelona was the first side drawn and will face Italian side AS Roma.
The La Liga powerhouse should be a clear favourite against their Serie A opponent.
Fresh off beating Manchester United, Sevilla has been drawn against German powerhouse Bayern Munich.
The Italian side will have to pull off an almighty upset to progress through to the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, Juventus faces Real Madrid in a mouthwatering clash that shapes as the contest of the quarter-finals.
It’s a less than ideal result for Real, who had to overcome Paris Saint-Germain in the round of 16, and will now take on a Juventus side high on confidence after seeing off Tottenham.
