Nollywood actress and filmmaker Omoni Oboli felt overjoyed after receiving a certificate of recognition from Patrick Brown, the Mayor of Brampton, Canada. The Mayor presented the recognition to celebrate her impactful work on her latest film, The Uprising, which has captured significant attention and achieved great success at the Canadian box office.
Omoni took to Instagram to share her excitement about the honour, posting a video that captured the special moment. In her post, she expressed deep gratitude for the warm reception she received at the Mayor’s office, highlighting the enthusiasm surrounding the film’s success in Canada. According to Omoni, several staff members from the Mayor’s office had already watched The Uprising in local cinemas.
The city of Brampton was excited to host a special screening of the film. This further showed their enthusiasm for the project.
