Controversial activist Verydarkman has publicly apologized to the Nigerian police for wearing their uniform without permission.
Recently, he stirred up quite a buzz when he donned a police outfit and claimed to be a social media police officer, stating that he was working to clean up the online space. His bold move took many by surprise and led to a swift reaction from the authorities.
The Nigerian police were quick to address the situation, warning Verydarkman about the implications of using their uniform without authorization. Following this, a video surfaced online in which he expressed his regret and clarified his intentions. In the video, he explained that although the outfit he wore was similar to the police uniform, he did not intend to impersonate or mock law enforcement. Moreover, he emphasized that his actions were not meant to disrespect the police in any way.
In his apology, Verydarkman acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the Nigerian police, thanking them for their commitment to protecting lives and property.
He emphasized that he did not intend to disrespect the police force.
He said, “I just returned from the police station. Officers questioned me about my post where I wore a costume that looked like theirs.”
“I did not mean to impersonate the police at all, and I sincerely apologize to the Nigerian police force and the Inspector General of Police.”
Verydarkman also urged the public to always ask for permission from law enforcement before using anything that resembles their uniform.
He warned that while some individuals might have good intentions, others could misuse such clothing for harmful purposes. “It’s important to get proper approval to avoid any misunderstandings,” he noted.
He concluded his statement by expressing gratitude for his legal support. He thanked his lawyer, @adeyanjudeji, for always being ready to help. This incident reminds us of the importance of respecting law enforcement symbols and the potential consequences of misusing them.
