The popular Netflix drama series ‘Blood Sisters’ is coming back for a second season! Mo Abudu, the CEO of Ebonylife Group, announced the exciting news on her Instagram page.

The first season premiered on May 5, 2022, and quickly became a hit, attracting 11 million views in its first week. In her post, Abudu shared, “BLOOD SISTERS SEASON 2 IS IN THE WORKS! I’m thrilled to announce that we just completed an amazing table read!

After 18 months of development with our talented writers Craig Freimond, Zeli Zulu, and Adze Ugah, the excitement is real! Nearly all your favourite characters are back!”

Biyi Bandele and Kenneth Gyang directed the first season, while Daniel Oriahi and Kayode Kasum will direct the second season. Producers Inem King, Ted Abudu, Judith Audu, and James Amuta are returning as well. “People recognize Oriahi for his acclaimed psychological thriller The Weekend, and audiences appreciate Kasum for directing popular films like Sugar Rush and Soole.”

‘Blood Sisters’ follows best friends Sarah (Ini Dima-Okojie) and Kemi (Nancy Isime) as they go on the run after Kemi accidentally kills Sarah’s abusive fiancé, Kola (Deyemi Okanlawon).

The series features a talented cast, including Genoveva Umeh, Kate Henshaw, Kehinde Bankole, and more.

Although it will be a little while before Blood Sisters 2 hits screens, the team is currently in pre-production.

Moreover, they are actively gearing up to start filming soon.

Abudu concluded her post by saying, “Expect twists, turns, and edge-of-your-seat drama! Thank you, Netflix, for believing in us and letting us create more magic!”
