VeryDarkMan’s Allegations Spark Legal Threats from Falz

Nigerian rapper Falz has taken a strong stance against activist VeryDarkMan following derogatory remarks made against him.
VeryDarkMan recently released audio recordings in which Bobrisky allegedly claimed that Falz and his father, Femi Falana, contacted him before his release from prison.
The tapes also suggested that Femi Falana arranged a settlement of 10 million naira regarding the case.
In response to these allegations, Falz issued a 24-hour ultimatum to VeryDarkMan, demanding the retraction of all defamatory statements.
In a letter shared on Instagram, Falz clarified that he never reached out to Bobrisky and emphasized that VeryDarkMan did not contact him before making these false claims, which included insinuations about his sexuality.
He warned that if VeryDarkMan fails to retract and apologize, he intends to pursue legal action, including seeking monetary damages for defamation. His post included the caption: “24 hours @verydarkblackman.”
In turn, VeryDarkMan denied the accusations of defamation against Femi Falana. His lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, stated that VeryDarkMan holds Femi Falana in high regard and only released the audio to encourage a thorough investigation into Bobrisky’s allegations.
The legal statement asserted, “Our client denies defaming Mr Femi Falana, SAN, and published the communication to prompt relevant agencies to investigate the serious allegations made by Mr Okuneye.”
In a dramatic twist, VeryDarkMan apologised to Femi Falana, retracting his earlier claims. This development followed demands from Femi Falana’s representatives for a retraction and a warning of potential legal action.
In a subsequent video on Instagram, VeryDarkMan reiterated, “I never defamed and will never defame Femi Falana. I reacted to Bobrisky’s allegations involving him, but I don’t believe Femi would associate with such claims. If that were true, I would be disappointed.”
