Nollywood actor IK Ogbonna has raised concerns about fake miracles in churches, urging the Nigerian government and religious organizations to take action.
His call comes amid social media discussions surrounding questionable testimonies from the Lord’s Chosen church.
In a detailed Instagram post, IK encouraged pastors to reflect on their actions and reminded Christians that true miracles are not rooted in deception.
He stated, “Fake miracles are mocking Christianity. It’s heartbreaking to see pastors deceive and exploit vulnerable people. These actions tarnish the essence of Christianity and turn faith into a spectacle for personal gain. The result? Broken trust lost lives, and faith manipulated for profit.”
He added, “Pastors should reflect—using God’s name for falsehood betrays the gospel. To the victims, your faith is sacred, and true miracles don’t stem from lies. Let’s be cautious about social media trends that disrespect our faith. Christianity should never be exploited for likes or views.”
IK Ogbonna called on the government and the Christian Association of Nigeria to step up, regulate, and hold accountable those who engage in such deceitful practices. “Christianity is about truth, love, and humility—not fraud or manipulation. Let’s unite to protect the integrity of our faith!”
