Tonto Dikeh: Leaving My Marriage Was the Best Move

Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has spoken out about her decision to end her marriage to Churchill Olakunle, calling it one of the best choices she ever made.

On September 15, 2024, Tonto Dikeh addressed a fan on Instagram who sought advice on coping with similar circumstances.

The fan asked how she managed when her ex-husband left her and their child, seeking guidance for her own situation. Tonto Dikeh clarified, “I was the one who chose to leave the marriage, not the other way around. I needed to get out of a tough situation for both myself and my child. It was the best decision I could have made.”

She encouraged the fan to focus on personal growth and self-investment, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing children’s well-being and seeking strength from God. She added, “Sometimes the end of a difficult situation can lead to new blessings. However, if your marriage is worth saving, fight for it.”

Tonto Dikeh also shared supportive advice for single mothers, noting that her biggest lesson has been learning to trust in love and divine guidance. She urged keeping family issues private and drawing strength from faith.

This follows her very public and challenging divorce from Churchill Olakunle in 2017. Tonto Dikeh has since spoken about having forgiven him and moving forward.
