Kate Henshaw Stunned by Fan’s ₦35 Million Request

Nigerian actress Kate Henshaw has voiced her frustration after receiving an unexpected and audacious request from a fan.

The actress took to X (formerly Twitter) on September 13, 2024, to express her disbelief over a direct message she received, asking her for a staggering ₦35 million.

In her post, Henshaw questioned the thought process behind such a bold request: “There must be a thought process that goes through people’s minds that I can’t fathom.

How do you send a DM to someone and ask for ₦35 million? How? Why? If you can’t afford what you want, why not wait until you can or save up? Stop it! Just stop!!”

Her followers were equally stunned by the amount and expressed their shock in the comments. One fan wrote, “₦35 million, like thirty-five and six zeros? In a DM? God of rich aunties, have mercy!”

Another user shared their advice: “Aunty Katie, please avoid such requests. Many people invest heavily in stocks and start begging until they get returns. Sadly, they don’t always share with those who helped them.”

One fan recounted a similar experience, revealing that someone had asked him for ₦2.5 million. He joked, “The person should go back and meet his/her baba. ₦35 million? Funny enough, I got a message asking me for ₦2.5 million yesterday. Where am I supposed to find that?”

Henshaw is not alone in addressing this issue. Nollywood star Chinedu Ikedieze, known as Aki, has also urged fans to stop begging for money.

He highlighted the economic difficulties everyone faces and reminded people that celebrities don’t have endless funds to distribute.

Both Henshaw and Ikedieze’s responses reflect a growing concern among celebrities about the unrealistic expectations and demands placed on them by the public.
