Portable Sparks Controversy with Car Dealer Incident and Fela Kuti Comments

Nigerian singer Portable has landed in hot water once again, this time over a heated dispute with a car dealer. In a dramatic turn of events, Portable’s frustration over a delayed US car delivery led to a live-streamed confrontation.

In the video, Portable angrily confronts the car dealer, who is on the floor, visibly distressed and pleading for calm. Portable shouts, “Where is my car? I will destroy your life.

Where is my car? “Are you trying to kill me or scam me?” Portable shouts, visibly upset about the delay. He claims the dealer still hasn’t delivered the vehicle shipped from America two months ago.

Portable explains, “He helped me ship my car from America; it’s been two months and I haven’t seen it. I was supposed to pick it up yesterday and post about it on social media, but he lied to me. He first said the car was with customs, but when we checked, it wasn’t there.”

Despite the dealer’s protests of innocence—“I didn’t take your car”—Portable demands action. He orders his associates to beat up the dealer, saying, “Why couldn’t you use a caterpillar to bring it, a car you brought from America? Beat him black and blue. Where is my car?!”

This outburst comes just days after Portable faced backlash for another incident involving a preacher at his bar. The preacher had been disturbing his customers, and Portable responded by slapping him, which drew criticism from many.

Adding fuel to the fire, Portable recently stirred up controversy with comments about the late Afrobeats legend Fela Kuti.

During an interview on the Echoo Room podcast, Portable suggested that Fela could have avoided death by focusing more on his own life instead of fighting for Nigerians.

He said, “If Fela had minded his business a little, he would have lived longer.” But he was busy fighting for Nigerians who didn’t fight for themselves,” Portable said.

Fela Kuti, renowned for his activism and musical genius, has a legacy that continues to influence and inspire. Portable’s comments sparked outrage among fans and followers, who felt disappointed by his remarks about the beloved icon.
