Nigerian singer Chike took a bold step by sending ₦1 million to a Twitter troll who accused him of gaining fame through the late singer Mohbad.
The drama started on August 13, 2024, when the troll left a nasty comment on one of Chike’s posts. The troll claimed that Chike only became famous because of Mohbad’s song “Egwu” featuring him, stating, “Mohbad made you.”Chike responded with a surprising twist, writing, “Your mother made you.” This reply set off a heated exchange. The troll continued to argue that Chike’s success was solely due to his collaboration with Mohbad.
Undeterred, Chike fired back, saying, “Your mother made you, but I hope you find someone to help you because I don’t see you doing it yourself. Jesus is King.”The troll didn’t back down, insisting that Chike’s impressive streaming numbers were thanks to Mohbad. In response, Chike decided to make a statement. He asked for the troll’s account number, then sent him ₦1 million, and tagged him “Hunger Boy.”Chike’s message read, “I doubt your mother even made you right. If she didn’t teach you manners, she should have taught you research. I’m sending you ₦1M now to help with hunger. Let the good guy rest in peace. Hunger Boy, eat.”
This unexpected move led to a flood of reactions across social media. Some users praised Chike for his unique way of handling the troll, while others criticized him for rewarding bad behaviour.
