It can be emotionally intense. Despite challenges, we keep going because of our passion and determination. We stay focused until the end.”

Ngozi also talked about how Nollywood has changed over time: “A lot has changed. When we started, we used VHS tapes. Now, movies have improved a lot technically.

But there are challenges. Nowadays, there’s less time for rehearsals and discussions. Some new stories lack depth and originality.”

She explained why this might be happening: “Nowadays, many people who aren’t experienced are becoming producers. They churn out stories that lack substance, often copying foreign movies. There’s less collaboration and trust among actors now.”

Ngozi shared what attracted her to her role in Broken Portrait: “The story is very emotional. It’s about a mother fighting for her child, which touched me deeply. Addiction is a serious issue, and this film powerfully tells that story.”

Reflecting on her experience filming Broken Portrait, she said: “It was emotional. There were moments when I had to take breaks because of the intensity of the scenes. As an actor, you have to immerse yourself in the character’s emotions.”

She also discussed how she chooses roles: “For me, the story has to make sense. I also consider the character I’m playing and sometimes the financial aspect. But a good story is always the priority.”
