Rick Ross Spotlights Blaqbonez’s Top Tune Before Collaboration

With Afrobeats gaining popularity worldwide, more stars from the US and Europe are teaming up with Nigerian artists to create music inspired by Afrobeats.
Soon, the famous American rapper Rick Ross will collaborate with award-winning rapper Blaqbonez.
Rick Ross has shown a strong interest in Nigerian and African music, even expressing his desire to create an album with an African theme. Recently, during an Instagram Live session with Blaqbonez.
Rick Ross revealed that his favourite song by the Nigerian rapper is ‘Bling’, which features Amaarae and BNXN.
In the same live session, Blaqbonez shared that the pain of losing the Best Rapper award to Kenyan rapper Kaligraph Jones at the Soundcity MVP Awards inspired him to create the song ‘Bling’.
Last month, Rick Ross teased a song snippet that featured Blaqbonez’s verse, hinting at their upcoming collaboration.
Earlier this year, Rick Ross acknowledged Nigerian street-hop star Portable and rapper Odumodublvck, expressing his interest in making an African album.
He later joined Odumodublvck on Instagram Live, where the Nigerian rapper gave him a crash course on Afrobeats.
Rick Ross is expected to feature his collaboration with Blaqbonez on his upcoming African album. He showed interest in collaborating with Nigerian Grammy-nominated star Ayra Starr, Ghanaian dancehall star Stonebwoy, and Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platinum.
This collaboration signifies a significant moment for Rick Ross, who Nigerian duo P-Square featured on the remix of their hit single ‘Beautiful Oyinye’ back in 2011.
