Shelley Duvall, known for her graceful appearance and unique personality on screen, died at her home in Blanco, Texas, at 75 years old.

She became famous for her roles in movies directed by Robert Altman and starred with Jack Nicholson in “The Shining.” Her death on Thursday was because of diabetes complications.

She wasn’t planning on an acting career at first, but everything changed when she met Robert Altman during the making of “Brewster McCloud” in 1970. Despite her lack of formal training, Altman found her impressive and cast her in the film.

This started a partnership that included many celebrated movies like “McCabe and Mrs. Miller,” “Nashville,” and “3 Women,” where she won the Best Actress prize at Cannes.

Her role as Wendy Torrance in “The Shining” remains one of her most remembered performances, despite critics initially criticizing it for being too intense.

Duvall kept acting during the 1980s, also producing children’s TV and starting Platypus Productions. Despite personal challenges and health problems later on, she leaves a legacy of unique acting and creative work in film and TV.
