UEFA Penalizes Barcelona for Supporters’ Racist Conduct

UEFA‘s recent announcement regarding Barcelona’s penalty has sparked widespread attention, as the club faces a hefty fine of 25,000 euros ($26,680) for the reprehensible behavior of some of its fans during a crucial Champions League quarter-final match against Paris Saint-Germain. Following the incident, which prompted police intervention and the questioning of two supporters, UEFA took decisive action to address the issue.

In addition to the financial penalty, UEFA dealt another blow to Barcelona by imposing a temporary ban on the sale of tickets to their supporters for the next European away fixture. “The UEFA Appeals Body has decided to fine FC Barcelona 25,000 euros and to ban FC Barcelona from selling tickets to its away supporters for its next UEFA competition match, for the racist behavior of its supporters,” UEFA said.
