YouTube permanently suspends two channels belonging to the R&B singer, R. Kelly, who has been found guilty of sex offences. The platform will not allow him to create any new channels in future.

R. Kelly’s music has not been banned by YouTube; internet video giant will continue to offer the singer’s music catalogue on YouTube Music.

YouTube recently removed channels belonging to R. Kelly which had 3.5 million subscribers and another which had about 1.6 million subscribers citing a violation of its terms of service, Variety report.

Attempts to watch anything on the deleted channels would show a message that says, “This video is no longer available because the YouTube account associated with this video has been terminated.”

“Egregious actions committed by R. Kelly warrant penalties beyond standard enforcement measures due to a potential to cause widespread harm,” YouTube VP of legal Nicole Alston wrote in her memo, “ultimately we are taking this action to protect our users similar to other platforms.”

She also said that Kelly will no longer be able to use, own or create YouTube channels,

His official accounts on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook also have recently been disabled.
