Omah Lay is a Nigerian independent artiste that struck the limelight in early 2020.
The quick-to-rise singer was a guest on MaxFM’s mid-day show – MaxHits, with the only head-warmer OAP Real Skillz.
Asked the reason for dropping another EP immediately after his first EP, Omah Lay stated:
“I am more of a recording artiste. What I do, basically, is to make music. There is no need holding it back. As soon as it’s ready, I let it out”.
The singer revealed that he has lots of songs in his vault; songs which nobody has listened to.
When asked how many songs he has recorded in total, he stated that his favourite to record, in his new EP, was ‘Can’t Relate’.
“I enjoyed recording the song ‘Can’t Relate’… I couldn’t even sleep. I recorded ‘Can’t Relate’ more than ten times in different locations,” he said.
Talking about feedback on the new EP, particularly on social media, the singer declared that: “I’m not so much of a social media person… I don’t pay attention to the comments.”
The ‘LoLo’ crooner, who used to be a rapper, also shared why he gave up rapping:
“I stopped rapping because I wasn’t getting what I wanted… Another thing is the sound… I was not getting the sound right and the producers I was working with were not getting what I wanted, at that time.”
