Nigeria’s Star Boy, Wizkid Has Achieved So Much At 29

Fans across the globe celebrates one of Nigeria’s globally appraised music starts in the last two decades, Wizkid as he turns 29 today, July 16, 2019.
Born to the home of Alhaji M.O and Mrs. Balogun in Ojuelegba, a suburb in Surulere Local Government was Ibrahim Ayodeji Balogun.
He first official single was recorded in 2009 under Empire Mates Entertainment at the age of 19, it was with passion and hunger for success and when the single was officially released in 2011 under the same label, the stage was set for Wizkid. Before this, Ayodeji was only a studio puppet seeking for a stool in the music industry while his father wanted him to get a degree.
From BET to MOBO Awards, Headies and NEA, Wizkid has won it all. He also has multiple nominations at the World Music Awards, MAMA and All African Music Awards. Came the fame as Wizkid became an instant news-maker across and beyond Nigeria.
Working his way to been globally recognized after many collaborations with acts in the United States, his fortune kicked higher when he collaborated with Drake to work on the Billboard hit single, ‘One Dance’.
Going forward, the young act made more records when he teamed up with athletic apparel giant, Nike, to promoted the Nigerian football jerseys and joining the globally acclaimed model, Naomi Campbel to strut the runway for an international fashion brand, Dolce and Gabbana.
Wizkid recently hinted that he’s been friends with Nigerian billionaire, Tony Elumelu and he was recently announced as the headliner for UBA’s strategic corporate market event scheduled for this summer.
We can say that Wizkid has done so much for himself at 29 and that he is ahead of his peers, who started out on the streets of Ojuelegba it all began for the star boy.
