Demi Lovato Finally Speaks Since Her Drug Overdose Incident

On Tuesday July 24 2018, American singer songwriter and actress Demetria Devonne Lovato (Demi Lovato) was reportedly rushed to an hospital in Los Angeles after she was found unconscious at her $8million Hollywood Hills home, due to an overdose of heroine. She was later reported to be stable and conscious but it hasn’t been publicly disclosed which drug or drugs may have been involved.
Demi Lovato, the 25 year old former X-factor judge has now addressed her fans for the first time since the incident. She thanked God, her family, fans, team as well as the staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Demi Lovato wrote: “I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction. What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet.”
Lovato has long been open about her struggles with sobriety, an eating disorder and being bipolar. She said she first tried cocaine as a teenage Disney star.
