American singer, Mariah Carey has reportedly sold off her 35 carat diamond engagement ring given to her two years ago by her ex-fiance James Packer.
The diamond ring which is reportedly worth $13.2 million was part of the financial settlement the songstress got in 2017 after her break up with the Australian media baron.
According to a news source, The songstress had one of her business managers silently sell the ring to a jeweler in Los Angeles for an estimated cost of $2.78 million AUD.
It was revealed that “a confidentiality agreement was signed” by the unnamed jeweller implying that full details concerning the sale of the engagement ring may never be revealed.
The songstress’ publicist told a news source “Mariah has been very vocal recently about her choice to move forward in her life surrounded by positivity. That requires leaving emotional and material baggage behind, including an old engagement ring from an ex-boyfriend.”
Mariah and Packer started dating in June 2015 and got engaged in January 2016 but the duo seperated in October 2016 after they fought in Greece.
In an interview with a news source, James Packer disclosed that his relationship with Mariah Carey, was a “mistake” that he entered into during a “low point” in his “personal life”.
The pop queen is currently dating her young back dancer, 35-year-old Bryan Tanaka and she is also fighting what her reps claim is a “frivolous and baseless” lawsuit brought by her former manager, Stella Bulochnikov, who alleges that Carey sexually harassed her by often being naked in front of her.
