Yuletide: MI, Ice Prince, Harrysong others shut down Jos Chillin’ Carnival

Last week turned out to be an unforgettable experience for concert-goers in the North as MI Abaga, Ice Prince, Cynthia Morgan, Harrysong, Mr 2kay, Skales, DJ Neptune others shut down Jos, the Plateau state capital.

The line-up brought their A-game and gave their fans a night to remember with energetic, interactive and entertaining performances during the 2017 Jos Chillin’ Carnival.

The carnival also highlighted some of the brightest upcoming stars in the Northern part of the country such as; Lyrical Dr Smith, Classiq, Mad Dragon All-Stars, The Lucky Starz Band, Manny and many others.

A day before the grand finale, members of the Superbikers Club Association of Nigeria (SCAN) took to the streets of Jos to display exceptional stunts with their toys in an epic event tagged: “Bikers’ Parade.”

The Carnival featured the Christmas Tree Lighting and Christmas Carol Nite jointly hosted by the Plateau state government, Buckwyld Media, and Mees Palace in collaboration with Plateau Radio and Television (PRTV).

The Carol Nite, had in attendance a representative of the wife of the Plateau State Governor, Mrs. Regina Lalong, among other dignitaries.

During the night, gospel icon, Dr. Panam Percy Paul, had guests on their feet singing and dancing and praising God for His blessings all through the year. The event climaxed with the tree lighting and beautiful fireworks display.

Equally remarkable was the street carnival. Various bands set out from different points within the city displaying colourful costumes and dance steps before converging at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium for a final showdown.

Team Kareng Falls emerged winners while Team Wase Rock and Kurra Falls were 1st and 2nd runners-up respectively. The winners were presented cash and gifts by the Plateau State Government, represented by Hon. Peter John Nwamkon, Commissioner for Tourism, Culture and Hospitality.

The Jos Chillin’ Carnival included a medical outreach and football challenge. GeeLec Academy was crowned winners of the football challenge.

Veteran R&B group Styl Plus closed the event by performing their classics.
